I spent the past week in Cabo celebrating my 5 year anniversary with my husband Jeff. It was my first time out of the country for something other than work, and it was awesome. We paid for the entire trip with points, but it still felt like such a lavish venture. Jeff loves traveling, and I love traveling when I’m with him, so it works out nicely.
I tried to ignore them. The people that were everywhere; covering the beaches and the sidewalks and restaurants, who were incessantly trying to sell us things or get us to go into their restaurant or take a water taxi. I see both sides. I understand that they are working hard to make money and since their town is often taken over by tourists, they may as well try to maximize the opportunity rather than be annoyed by all the visitors. But the inability for me to take in my surroundings, or remember what I was talking about in my conversation to my husband because they would loudly interrupt and keep pushing even after we politely declined, tainted certain parts of the trip for me.
I bring this up because I don’t want the people who read my posts on here or instagram to feel like they are being bombarded with someone trying to sell them something every second. I get asked all the time for details on the makeup looks that I do and I value that you take the time to read what I have to say so I want it to be helpful. But never want it to feel pushy.

I often have a hard time deciding if I want to look fancy, or if I want to go with the “messy” or boho look. I feel like this look on Jessa conquers both!
I call this lip formula a “washable waterproof.” It stays put but it also wears off fairly nicely (like it goes from a deep dark color then softens out to almost like an ombre lip throughout the day,) and then comes off when you want it to.
It’s two lip liners.
I lined the inside 2/3 of her lips with Venom then with more precision lined the outside with Blackmail then overlapped the colors so they’d blend together.
You will need a sharpener for these.
I like this sharpener because there’s a cover for the blade part so when the product gets stuck in the edges of the sharpener you can cover it so it doesn’t end up all over the rest of my stuff. It’s the little things 🙂

I’ve been testing out all sorts of foundations lately (I’d love to hear what you love!) On Jessakae I ended up using La Mer Foundation and mixing it with a touch of Double Wear (for a more natural look with some staying power.)

This flamingo makeup was inspired by Jessa’s love for flamingo’s 🙂
I used this palette and it’s ON SALE Urban Decay (I use it all the time but for this look I used the pink and orange.)
I used eyeliners:
And you can just use the edge of a sheet of paper to create a straight line. As far as Halloween makeup goes, I feel like this is a pretty easy look to do.
I wanted to do a different spin on the typical flamingo makeup look. It’s like a coachella styled flamingo haha.
Jessa’s gorgeous and halloween makeup is so fun to do.
You may remember from my last post that Free People featured images from this shoot on their blog and on their main instagram, which is so rad.
