Zoe: The Makeup Details
Last time I worked with Ty French and Zoe Lazerson the photos were all over Free People’s official blog and instagram….those two make some magic happen. I had the opportunity to work with them again and the photos of course, are stunning. For a step by step on Zoe’s eyeshadow look see my post Warm Smokey Eye on Zoe
Here are some more details on what was used for her eye makeup:
Urban Decay Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer, Lancome Le Stylo eyeliner in Noir, House of Lashes in Pixie Luxe, Hypnose Mascara, Lancome Brow Pencil in Taupe.
Complexion: Temptu Airbrush, Laura Mercier Secret Concealer, Contour by Maskcara in Shadow, Laura Mercier Translucent Powder
Lips: Urban Decay lip liner in Naked 2, Lancome lip-liner in Bronzelle.) MAC Lipstick in Myth, Bobbi Brown Crystal.
Zoe is obviously a natural beauty. Here is her before and after which is useful to be able to see what the different products look like.
I am currently on Harbor Island in the Bahamas for a job. What an amazingly beautiful place this is!
I hope you guys are having a wonderful week as well! xoxo
Nude Lip
Here are some of my fav’s when it comes to creating the perfect nude lip. Ps. the trick is to leave some dimension so you don’t look entirely lip-less. Hence the reason I gravitate to a slightly deeper color of lipliner, then use a slightly lighter lip color.

KSL’s Studio 5 asked me to talk about top picks for creating the perfect nude lip. Here are some of my recommendations in different price ranges.
Liners:
Chanel lip liner in “Mordore Nude 05” or
Urban Decay lip liner in “Naked 2” or
NYX lip liner in “Natural”
Lip Colors:
MAC Pro Longwear Lipglass in “Patience Please” for a glossy nude lip.
MAC Lipstick in Myth for a matte finish nude lip.
Flower Beauty in Morning Glory for a budget-friendly pinky-nude lip.
When lining your lips, line about 2/3 of them, nearly filling them in. This will create dimension and keep you from looking like you “sharpied” the outside of your lips.
Also, I’m kind of in love with this vintage look I did for Whitney’s beach shoot. Details for this look coming soon.

OH! This is of utmost importance! Make sure your lips are smooth if you’re going to wear lip color. Lipstick and some glosses can grip to dry skin, making it look more evident, and no one wants that.
My fav routine for saying, “Adios!” to dry lips:
1) Put on some Bite Agave Lip Mask (I often wear this like chapstick too.)
2) Let it soak and soften your lips for a while, at least 20 minutes.
3) Using a damp cloth or I use is this awesome makeup remover cloth. You’ll gently rub your lips in circular motions buffing off the dead skin. Then reapply more Bite to keep them hydrated and super smooth.
I also use the makeup remover cloth at night when I wash my face to get off all of my makeup (including my eye makeup) before I Clarisonic. I have this Clarisonic because I upgraded a little while ago and it’s powerful for sure. However, the Clarisonic Mia (just says Men’s ’cause it’s black haha) totally does the job and works great.
I hope this is helpful! xoxo
Group Makeup Class: Everyday Makeup
One of my favorite things about my job is being able to teach. As much fun as it is to hear things like “I wish I had you to get me ready every single day!” It’s even MORE fun when people send me selfies after they’ve taken a class from me, and I get to see that they’re using what I’ve taught them. Lots of warm fuzzies in my heart those moments 🙂I will be offering a group makeup class on May 14th from 5pm-8pm. It will cover the essentials for your everyday makeup routine to look your best! The cost is $125 and you will receive free makeup product and I’ll be doing 2 full face makeovers. I will show you exactly what products to use and how to use them. Plus there will be yummy appetizers! Have a girls night out or fly solo, either way it will be tons of fun! There will be limited seating.

The Perfect Smokey Eye
I used these products to create a smokey eye that will flatter any eye color. Step 1 and 2: Use Urban Decay All Nighter eyeliner to line your eye.
Step 3 and 4: Use the Hourglass Smudge brush to apply the darkest color Crave from the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette.
Step 5: Use the Hourglass All Over Eyeshadow brush to apply the color Faint from the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette.
Step 6: Use the Hourglass Smudge brush to apply the lightest color Venus from the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette.
Then if desired, add lashes! I used some super duper full ones. They’re Flutterlashes in Miley. Flutterlashes are more of a luxury strip lash. For a more subtle but striking look, I LOVE the Isabella and Ashlin styles by Flutterlashes.
I am always hunting for the very best brushes so I like trying different things. Hourglass brushes are incredibly durable and the Hourglass Small concealer brush No.5 and the Hourglass Large concealer brush No.8 are some of my staples. I like the Hourglass eyeshadow brushes I used for this look and they seem durable, which is one of the reasons I love their concealer brushes. However, if you’ve been following my blog for a while and already have the MAC Mini Shader Brush 228 and the MAC Fluff Brush 213, those will work just fine.
Make sure to always clean up any excess eyeshadow tricklets that end up under your eyes. The point of a smokey eye is to look sexy not sickly! Ha 😉
